I am published!

This is great! It is nice to be published in a book that has an actual ISBN. This may mean nothing for most people. But this means a lot to me. It means I have arrived!
I have been published on people's websites, either personal websites or webzines. I have been published in self-published magazines aka zines. I have been published in newsletters. I have been published in literary magazines with circulation smaller than 500, well 500 might be stretching it. Maybe 100. I published my own chapbook. I contributed to a chapbook anthology. But a book with an ISBN. Ahhh, the wonders. It means the book exists. It can be located. It may have a chance to be ordered (provided that the publisher/press still exists and still has the desire to keep it in print).
Well, what does this mean? No fame (except in my little circle of friends), no glory (except I can feel happy and we can share each others' happiness), and no tremendous honor (except that I am grateful to be in a community of poets and poetry lovers who are willing to put the effort to produce a beautiful book).
The name of the book is Every First Tuesday (2006, Rock and Feather Publications, Bookworm Press, Hercules, CA). It is an anthology of the Benicia Library Poets. The reading and booksigning is November 1, 2006, 7PM, in Donna Benicia Room at the Benicia Public Library in Benicia, CA.
ISBN 0-9776393-2-0, mmmmmwwwuuuah!

congratulations…
but you have an interesting “I” AM technique… it shows that you totally identify with your book… that`s great… “i am published” - the book is an extension of you and your “I” even spreads to webzines….:)
every bookwriter has my biggest respect…
greetings from essence
Thank you! I am glad you brought that “I” to my attention. Awareness/consciousness sets us free. I feel a sense of freedom when I rejoice and share my joy.
Way to go in getting your book published. Those ISBN numbers mean a lot. Enjoy the experience.
